Is the line “She was my world, and you took her from me.” perhaps rather a reference to Clarks mother rather than Lois. The assumption is automatically the girlfriend but why? As Lex says when Superman says "she's safe on the ground" ... "close, but I am not talking about Lois. No. Every boy's special lady is his mother". Then later we see Batman entrust himself with not letting Martha die tonight. Is there a version where this night plays out and he doesn't save Martha from Anatoli Knyazev?
